This began when the [[..stardrive|drivespace communications relay]] was destroyed at the Battle of Kendai in [[..timeline|2375]].

The lack of this drivesat at the edge of the [[..Stellar Ring|Stellar Ring]] cut off contact to [[..the Verge|the Verge]] until another satellite was built and activated in 2496.

This 121 year silence means that 2-3 generations have been raised apart from each other.
