Evgeny Ivanovich

Evgeny spent most of his life known as Evgeny Ivanovich; although he was born Evgeny Marcoux in Paris in 1887. Elise changed his last name when they moved to St. Petersburg with his father. They never took the name Alekseyev for political reasons, as he [Yevgeni Ivanovich Alekseyev] is the illegitimate son of Tsar Alexander II, nor were they around Alexeyev's real family (the woman he married and their kids).

I have 2 sisters and brother - I am the oldest child. I have no knowledge of any of their whereabouts or even if they are still alive - including my mother.

• 1843: Yevgeni Ivanovich Alekseyev is born
• 1864: Louis Beauchamp is born
• 1869: Elise Marcoux is born
• 1883: Alexeyev is stationed in Paris as naval attache
• 1885: Alexeyev begins affair with Elise
• 1887: Evgeny is born in Paris to Alexeyev and Elise
• 1889: Alexeyev stationed in St. Petersburg and brings Elise (mistress) and his child with him
• 1890: Nika is born to Alexeyev and Elise
• 1891: Alexeyev leaves St. Petersburg and Elise never sees him again
• 1893: Elise makes several trips over the next couple of years to Paris becoming involved with Louis Beauchamp, but she always returns to St. Petersburg
• 1895: Leonard is born to Louis and Elise
• 1898: Louis joins the French Foreign Legion
• 1899: Evgeny joins the Russian Naval Academy; Odette is born to Louis and Elise
• 1901: Louis is sent to the Ivory Coast with the Legion
• 1905: Revolution of 1905 convinces Elise to spirit Evgeny out of Imperial Russia - she sends him to Louis - Evgeny joins the Legion under the name Ivan.
• 1907: Louis loses his leg during an Ivorian uprising and is captured. Evgeny and some “friends” of his successfully raid the encampment and save Louis.
• 1908: Louis retires from the legion and returns to France
• 1910: Evgeny leaves the legion with honors
• 1910-1924: Evgeny spends this time along the coast of West Africa, around the Cape, then up through the Middle East, finally into the Med (both sides).
• 1924: Evgeny reaches France where he attempts to look up Louis (who is now 61). He is informed that Louis is currently in New York City. In addition, Louis has something he must discuss with Evgeny. Figuring that Louis may be near death, Evgeny travels to America expecting to find him on his deathbed (if not already passed).
