Grappler Hand (Cyberware)

GRAPPLER HAND (PL 6)

The hand of the recipient’s cybernetic arm can be detached and used as a grappling hook.

Benefit: The recipient’s arm contains 300 feet of duracable and a housing that can support up to 1500 lbs of weight in addition to the recipient. A pneumatic launcher allows the recipient to launch her hand (as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 60’) to grab hold of an anchor for climbing, an object, or even another creature. The winch included with the system allows the character to pull herself and up to 1500 lbs of additional weight up to the hand without the need for a Climb check, or to pull any item that she could normally pull/drag to herself.

The hand can also be used to grapple opponents at range, but cannot pin opponents unless the recipient has two grappler hands. The grip of the hand is sufficient, however, the grapple and opponent and gain a hold, then drag the opponent toward the character. Dragging a grappled opponent requires an established grapple, and a successful grapple check each round. On a failed grapple check, the opponent gains enough leverage to resist being moved for that round. Opponents who are being dragged must make a Balance check with a DC equal to the recipient’s successful grapple check to keep their feet while being dragged. Any grapple checks made with a grappler hand gain a +8 equipment bonus. The recipient of a grappler hand can control the speed at which the winch reels the duracable in or out, up to a speed of 30’ per round.

If the duracable is ever severed, the recipient loses all control of the hand until the cable is replaced and the imbedded cytronic circuitry are repaired.

Use of a grapples hand requires a NIJack system.
