Colors During Starfall & Starrise

After 300+ years of traveling drivespace, humanity has developed several superstitions and scientific theories concerning the rare single color patterns appearing during the starfall and starrise of vessels. The following list addresses the most notable or common colors.

Extremely rare, spacers consider black starfalls good luck. Orlamu scholars conclude that several powerful Starborne have often been born under this sign.

Blue starfalls represent the most common single color, and find general acceptance in all circles of knowledge as a neutral blessing or occurrence. A starrise of the same color holds no unusual qualities in legend or lore.

Many view green starfalls as the second most common hue recorded by vessels, and a picturesque performance of drivespace harmony. Meanwhile, some circles further believe that a green starrise accompanies navigational precision.

Sailors often greet red starfalls with sighs of relief, for they believe that if a voyage begins red, it is much less likely to end in the dreaded red starrise, which often represents a very bad omen of things to come. Several Orlamu priests often agree with this interpretation, as they have never recorded one after the other. Starborne who first enter real space as part of a red starrise often lead ominous lives.

The Orlamists believe white starfalls provide the cleanest entry into the Divine Unconscious, based on the phenomenon of their ability to collect excellent sensor data on such occasions. Likewise, a white starrise is accepted as a fond farewell from the Divine Unconscious, and a general recognition of man's presence and passage through the divine realm.

Yellow starfalls have no special meaning attached to them, but Orlamu scientists have determined that certain stardrives (usually of Orlamu design) can generally recharge 15-20% faster following a yellow starrise.
