The recipient has a miniature neural interface computer integrated with his nervous system. The implant also includes a cytronic circuitry system, which allows electronic signals to travel freely between neural pathways and cybernetic machinery.

Benefit: The recipient may attempt Computer Use checks as a move action, rather than a full-round action. The microcomputer reduces by half the time required to operate remotes. The microcomputer features an internal 3D drive and memory storage system. It is powered by the recipient’s natural bioelectric field.

A data port (or Neural Interface Jack—”NIJack”) in the back of the unit allows for the insertion of a standard interface cable (purchase DC 5), enabling the recipient to transfer data between his internal systems (both organic and cybernetic) and outside systems. This feature is particularly important for full immersion in the Grid; a NIJack is required to use a Gridcaster.

The cytronic circuitry that allows a direct connection between the recipient’s nervous system and his cyberware is required to take full advantage of a number of advanced cybernetic implants.

For a small additional fee, recipients can have a subdermal or wireless NIJack added to their systems. Neither of these modifications counts as cybernetic attachements in their own right, nor does either take up any slots. Either of these additional systems add +2 to the base purchase DC of the system, and adding both adds +3.

A subdermal port is installed in the recipient’s forearm. It is all but invisible and allows the recipient to interface with any kind of computer or sensor gauntlet without the need for bulky external wires.

A wireless NIJack connector is located on the outside of the recipient’s head, usually some place where it can be easily concealed by hair. It allows the recipient to interface with any wireless-capable device within 30 feet and with which he has line of sight.
