Psionic talent feats are “enablers” for various psionic skills. The feats represent the raw potential to learn certain psionic skills. Some psionic talent feats—such as Psychokinesis or Telepathy—grant access to many different psionic skills while others—such as Psionic Weapon—grant access to only a single psionic skill (usually a less common one). Psionic talent feats grant immediate use of any of the talent’s skills that can be used untrained and allow the character to purchase ranks in the talent’s skills.

Note that psionic talent feats do not determine whether psionic skills are class skills, only whether a character can buy the skills at all. Mindwalkers and many psionic advanced and prestige classes have psionic skills as class skills while other characters must acquire them as crossclass skills.

Psionic feats are only available to characters with a measure of psionic talent or potential. A character must have the Psionic Ability feat to acquire psionic feats. Psionic talent feats and metapsionic feats are also considered psionic feats for this purpose (that is, characters must have one of the two prerequisite talents in order to acquire them).
