The Eyrie

The Eyrie is a huge floating installation. It is roughly bowl-shaped with spires rising from the edge, making it resemble an 8-pointed crown. The bowl is covered with a translucent roof (a Blaursfeld-Zeiss Lattice) made of glass hexagons. Moored to each spire are large zepplin airships secured at one end to a docking mast and tied to the superstructure at the other end. Numerous hangers, landing platforms and runways encircle the outside and lead into the cavernous interior.

Overlooking the massive accomplishment, one sees terraced sides growing an abundance vibrant green plants. Each spire is linked to the others by a circular railway system that runs at the mid-point of the bowl. In each slice of the bowl barracks, homes, offices and paths swarm over the land. The base of each spire also has a railway line leading to the flat bottom of the bowl. The bottom of the bowl is a polished sheen of metal with no permanent structures, but is littered with a diverse array of flying machines, either ready to launch, undergoing visible repair or actively taking off and landing.

It's size and complexity surely make it one of the most advanced and largest man-made structures on the Earth.
